Nightcap Night Vision Walk
Take a Night Vision guided bushwalk in Nightcap National Park to see; Australia’s unique nocturnal animals in their natural habitat, glow worms in all their glory and on a clear night gaze at the stars. For each walk, you will be issued with a pair of Night Vision goggles. This allows you to observe the Australian bush when it is at its most active, even when it’s really dark.
Please note as this is a national park and the animals have a very large range and as such animal sightings can not be guaranteed, although we usually see 2-8 animals. Typically we see Possum, Pademelon, Bandicoot and Tawny Frogmouth, occasionally we see a koala. We get more animal sightings when the moon is not full.

How it works
Human vision is confined to a small portion of the electromagnetic spectrum called visible light. Night Vision goggles use an infrared image intensifier tube to allow you to see in the near infrared spectrum. This spectrum is normally invisible to the naked eye. The Night Vision image allows you to see animals, without blinding or disturbing them, even when it’s really dark. The image does not have colour information so you will see in monochromatic green.
