Nightcap Historic Track

Nightcap Historic Track

The Nightcap Historic Track is a 19km hike between Mount Nardi (near Nimbin) and Rummery Park (near Minyon Falls). It is part of the old postman's that ran between Lismore and Murwillumbah, it has a rich history with the Widjabul people who are a part of the Bundjalung Nation, it's said the area was once the place of the "the Clever People".

The Nightcap Historic Track is a remarkable walk with multiple ecosystems, massive trees, wildlife and breath-taking views of the Mount Warning caldera, including stunning views of Wollumbin (Mount Warning).

The walk starts at Mount Nardi which stands at about 792m, it's not quite all downhill from there, but you'll end up at Rummery Park 369m. In the middle there is the Nightcap Bluff which stands at 829m and the amazing Dirangah Rocks (eroded volcanic vents).

Although the track is well marked, this is not an easy walk, it is for experienced hikers only. The NSWNPWS have listed this as a grade 4 walk. It takes about 6-7 hours to walk.

You may want to combine this walk with the Minyon Falls Walk and turn your experience in to an awesome 32km in 2 days hike.
